An Apple a day keeps Microsoft away

After many, many crashes, one too many in-process documents lost, and a little persuasion from James, I've taken the plunge and become --gasp-- a Mac user. I am now the proud owner of a MacBook - Black.

I’m still learning to use the many cool features that are new to me, but it’s an exciting change and I’m glad I’ve made the switch.

What’s your favorite Mac feature?

  1. Fun! What are you using? I like stupid little widgets for the Dashboard. I like iPhoto - it's just so easy to use for photo upload and quick management and adjustment.

  2. Just being able to drag and drop things wherever I want them.

Welcome to the club, by the way.

  3. Lucky you! I will be tech-jealous forever if I don't get one myself!

  5. Jeanette,

    Welcome to the dark side...

My favorite Mac feature? the "On" button.

Actually, a really cool feature is you can highlight text, then option+drag it to the desktop. This will create a text snippet, which you can then drag into documents, web forms, etc. Useful for repeat info, like addresses or websites.

  6. Both my son and my husband have switched over to Mac laptops. I'm still using a Windows desktop because the embroidery software I use in my craft business doesn't come in a Mac version. I know I could get a Mac and run Windows on it, but damn that's a lot of money to spend just to say I use a Mac. ;-)

  8. I like that comic-booky program for Macs that lets you make photos look like comic book panels. Whatever that is called.

I really, really, really want a Mac. Husband won't buy one. Every time we upgrade, he insists on a PC. LAME.

  9. The question is what don't I love about the mac? I guess the cost... still I can't switch to pc. My poor old ibook is on it's last legs, but I still drag it to bed with me.
    Enjoy!
