Three Ingredient* Cookie Recipe

The other night I was telling my mom about a cooking class I'm orchestrating for Food Fantasies at the Pasfield House. I started to write a big long thing about it, but it's 10 pm on Friday night, tomorrow is my only day off and I'm trying to relax a bit. For now, let me say that I thoroughly enjoyed the trial cooking class we held on Wednesday! Meet my good friend and coworker, Dogfood. (His real name is Chris Sommer, but you know how it works, some call me Spaghetti, others call me Noodles, I get Jeannette-E quite a bit, and then there's the occasional Waa-Naa-Net....)

Anyway, Dogfood's giving (teaching!) the class on February 16th at 6pm at the Pasfield House. Click on that last link for more details. Go on - click it!

What was I talking about? Oh yeah, the cookie recipe....

Vegan, gluten free. Mac and cheese. California burger. Heaven. @FoodFanta

Whoa, how'd that picture get in here!?

So I'm on the phone with my mom trying to share my excitement for this class when she interrupts me to say, "Ooooh, I have a really easy cookie recipe! It's only three ingredients!" But I'm all like, "No, mom, he's vegan." And she was like, "Why does that matter? It's just three ingredients." And I was like, "Mom, there's an egg." And I go “mom, just get me a Pepsi! Please, all I want is a Pepsi!” And she wouldn't give it to me! All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me! Just a Pepsi!

I never got a Pepsi because we were talking via phone and those are song lyrics and well, the cookie recipe IS super easy.

1 Cup of Crunchy Peanut Butter

1 Cup of Sugar

1 egg

1 tsp Vanilla

Bake it for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.

I write all this down and then ask, "What do you call this recipe?" My mom pauses for a moment then says, "I don't know. I've just always called it the Three Ingredient Cookie Recipe."

"Mom? There's four ingredients."

"I guess I don't count the vanilla."

  1. That's hilarious. Ellen's mom came to visit me on Saturday. I love her.

  2. You told that story a little ''one sided''...

When I was given the recipe I was told 'It's a 3 ingredient cookie recipe' - I don't know why the vanilla isn't counted...

Second: I don't remember you asking for a Pepsi? Good thing though, I think all I have is Dr. Pepper and it's kinda a long drive to get a soda...
