And the award for Most Creative Name-Spelling goes to

The Illinois Secretary of State!

I even spelled it out to the guy on the phone, letter-by-letter.

At least he got the correct number of Es in my first name. Seeing an M, P and T was a new (and joyous) experience!

States are multiplying like rabbits

Remember that guy who told me he had never been far enough east to visit The Idahos? The other day a totally different guy told me he hadn't been to either of The Tennessees or The Alabamas.

These boys need a shower-curtain-map and then to hang it up inside-out so they can get schooled while they get clean.

Happy Solstice

I love knowing that the days will begin to grow longer.

Although, I rather enjoy my little Christmas tree. It's a nice perk of winter.

I've been eating a lot of Satsumas lately. In-season produce is the best!

I've played Bingo twice in the last month.

I haven't made too much progress on the fibonacci mosaic, though I am working on it a little bit each day.

I liked this I SAW YOU in the Eugene Weekly a couple of weeks ago.

Nico is doing well.

Effing finally

It might seem harsh to use Thee F-Word right there in the title of a post that maybe five people will see, but this damn robot mosaic has dragged on for years and I'm beyond happy to finally complete it, two and a half years after I glued its first bits to wood.

It looks pretty cool, but keep in mind, broken hearts are the worst.

Moar photoz plz

Since my last update, I've shopped at The Kiva...
...my old stomping grounds, even though I've only been in Eugene since June.

I wore this to work one day.

I took the above photo while waiting for a conference room to open up.
I love my job. I love the warehouse.

Solar-panel-covered parking at Tamarack. I go here for a silly fun water aerobics class. Indoor saltwater pool heated to 92. Can't beat it!

Oregon is magic.

I wore this to work another day.

Scott and Laura's yard is pretty.

So this building's walls are barrells covered in spray foam.

Here's a spray foam giant eagle.

Look at that thing.

And look closer at this sketchy building.

I went to Vancouver, WA and walked on a bridge that connects to Portland and I saw Mt Hood.

It's a cool bridge.

These aren't my feet, but I did get a pedicure.

Captured by phone

Having a smartphone has decreased the likelihood I will commit random things to memory; I screengrab everything.

I thought I would do a quick blog post based off of photos I took since my last post, but my so-called "photograph collection" is mostly screengrabs of things I want to remember, things I want to think about for potential future possible mosaic ideas, phone numbers, funny things I want to send to people and of course, recipes which I will never make. In betwixt all of that, I did take a few actual photos.

Romanesco: the coolest food ever. Though considered broccoli-ish, it seems more cauliflowery to me. Either way, it's definitely math and science and nature and food. I was so stoked to finally encounter one in person!

Okay, so this is a screengrab. I spend a lot of time thinking about my next mosaic and I especially think about making a fibonacci mosaic. I can't make a decision about what to make. But I would like to find fibonacci in nature, photograph it, then make a mosaic replica of my photo. Now, just to find the perfect thing to photograph....

Oh wait, that's a homemade evil siamese-twin baby doll I spotted at the coolest Halloween party ever.

I organized stuff around my house on Sunday. These are my scarves.

Back up for a moment, I forgot to show a real Halloween picture. I dressed up as Velma. Ruthie is next to me. Actually, all three of them were basically strangers, related to my coworker. Most everyone was new to me, although I totally ran into someone I knew from working at The Kiva. Gil (pronounced Jill) was one of my favorite people at The Kiva and I was SO stoked to run into her Friday night! But I didn't think to get photos with me and anyone I actually know, which was one other person.

Here's the other person I know, the person who invited me to the party. I mean, Uncle Fester. I mean, a cheddar bunny that looks like a portly fellow jumping up, fist-bumping the air like fuck yeah dude!

House --> Home

Tap tap tap, is this thing on?

I've been exploring Oregon and becoming more and more familiar with Eugene. I have a lot to discover, each day brings me something new. I'm meeting new people, making friends, growing closer with my coworkers. I love my job, it's everything I had hoped for. Life in Oregon is fantastic!

I'm so close to the ocean.

Not far from a field of lava. Damn that sun was so bright, I couldn't open my eyes.

A month after the above selfie fail, I spotted this sign at The Kiva:

You know what else is near?
Clothing optional hot springs!

Mt Hood isn't too far away either.

I spent a day in Portland and came home with flowers.

I barely have time to mosaic, but am slowly finishing the robots.
I hope this heater can keep me warm all winter.

Clearly, I am rambling. Time to step away from the technology.

Patterns on Colors on Patterns

I received a compliment today because of how much my patterns clashed. Ahem, I think my horse dress goes with everything.

You know your wardrobe lacks when you wear the same dress on both Monday and Friday.

I need to thrift for fall clothes.

And pick up some rain gear.

And a couple of lamps.

Wise Beyond My Years

I've always been told that I'm wise beyond my years and I've never really known what was meant by that statement. Until now.

I misplaced my remote, couldn't figure out how to turn off my TV and so I unplugged it.

I'm old.

UPDATE: I found the remote.

I showed you mine, now show me yours

These are all of my canned goods.

Garbanzo beans, artichoke hearts, tomato stuff and tomato things.

I'm curious, what's in your cabinet?

Send a picture of your canned goods, please - let's compare!

If you don't know how to leave it in the comments, you can email me at JnetWrites@gmail.com. Or take a picture with your phone and text it to 217.416.2953

Thanks, dude!
